The image "Flying High" was one of the two runner up images published in the Digital Wildlife Photographer of the Year category in the Digital Photographer Magazine 2009 Digital Photographer of the Year competition.

Flying High
My image "Flying High" shows an Arctic Tern on Inner Farne (one of Northumberland's Farne Islands). The image was taken during the summer of 2009. I took the shot from close up with an extreme wide angle lens in order to achieve a different perspective from more typical shots of this bird.
